Captain Cesc Fabregas was in inspirational form as he struck twice, with Andrey Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh and a Carlos Vela double making it an emphatic scoreline.
Wenger believes the blossoming partnership in midfield between Fabregas - who was strongly linked with a return to Barcelona in the summer - and Jack Wilshere will help the 18-year-old fulfil his potential.
"It is difficult to compare Cesc and Jack, though of course they both have exceptional talent," said Wenger, who has now seen his side score 16 goals in their three homes games this season.
"What is fantastic is for a player of Wilshere's age to see someone like Fabregas close up, to play with him - he will learn a lot by doing so because he's such an intelligent player.
"Cesc has a fantastic influence. People forget he is 23, when other players start. What is important is that he leads the team to winning.
"What I like is he gave the ball to Vela when he could have tried to score a third himself - that reflects the way we want to play the game and on a leader who does what the game wants, not being selfish.
"He arrived here at the age of 16 and enjoys the way we play. What more do you want to be happy?"
